The guide has awarded 16 star restaurants

<div _ngcontent-c14 = "" innerhtml = "

2019 Michelin Guide, certainly the top of the restaurants list, has released its latest list in New York City – with three add-ons of two stars and 13 add-ons of a star. And it is a major upgrade from last year's list: The city now has 16 newborn units, compared to the six-year-old in 2018, of which half were Japanese.

As for the three-starred rows? It was predictable that the same restaurants kept their stars as they had in recent years: Daniel Humm's Eleven Madison Park, Eric Ripert's Le Bernardin, Per Se, Thomas Keller, Takayama's Mass, and C & eacute; The Brooklyn Fare table retained its three-star status. Again. (The category has remained largely stagnant for years, unless the case The degradation of Jean-Georges in the list of 2018. And her lack of movement has become a "situation" that has provoked some turmoil in the culinary world, given that the Rich Restaurant in New York hosts many places worth three stars.)

Gabriel Kreuther, Ichimura Uchū, and Joel Robuchon's Workshop are two-star nights this year. But I can not say I'm surprised – restaurants are Michelin's alley for food, ambience and service. All are notable, sure. But none is really innovative or profoundly interesting. Michelin, after all, is known for its relatively "safe" and staid choices.

But there is only one anomaly: the Tetsu basement at Takayama Masa, which is now closed, is technically one of the add-ons of the two-star restaurant of the city. But the guy went to the press before the concept closed his doors.

As for the add-ons of a star, Atomix, Bouley at Home, Claro, Jokeu Bar Noodle, Kosaka, Le Coucou, Le Grill de Joeuml; Robuchon, Noda, Okuda, Oxomoco, Sushi Nakazawa, Sushi Noz and Tuome.

It is good to remember that Asian cuisine, especially the Japanese, is doing well. And for the first time in Michelin's history, a noodle shop actually claimed a star. But everything that's aside, it's pretty confusing that no other quality no-star restaurant (and New York City certainly has a lot) won a star.

Mexican food has also gained some force. Claro (an Oaxacan restaurant) and Oxomoco (a restaurant billed as "Mexican wood") are two of the 13 new single-star entries.

In other news of the new stars, it was time for Le Coucou of Daniel Rose, who is at Hotel Howard in SoHo. Enthusiastic travelers have gathered for a long time to be included. And the first star was highly deserved. But I think many would argue that it is a good enough restaurant to claim two stars.

Beyond that, this year saw several strippers: Breslin, Aureole, Delaware and Hudson, and Taverna Minetta no longer stars.

As for the three-starred rows? It was a presumption of ho-hum that the same restaurants kept their stars as they had in recent years: Daniel Humm's Eleven Madison Park, Eric Ripert's Le Bernardin, Per Se, Thomas Maser, Takayama Masa and the Chef's table César Ramirez at Brooklyn Fare have maintained their three-star status. Again. (The category has remained largely stagnant for years, except Jean-Georges' degradation in the 2018 list. Lack of movement has become a "situation" that has provoked some turmoil in the culinary world, given that the restaurant rich in New York is the place where many places deserve three stars.)
