after the fall of Leonardo Mayer this morning against the Italian Fabio Fognini with 2-6, 3-6 and 6-7, Diego Schwarztman is the only Argentine left in the Australian Open race that takes place in the courtyards of Melbourne Park.

With a very uniform development in the first set, the Italian just took advantage of the tie due to the mistakes of the Argentine in this definition.

In the second set, the Europeans forced their game against a Mayer, which even the rainbreak failed to handle the versatility of the Italian game.

The third presented the best of the two. On the one hand, Mayer's courage and strength was measured and, on the other hand, the expanded menu of Fognini's qualities that led to a new tie break in which the Italian finished the match.

In the third round, Fognini will face Spaniard Pablo Carreño-Busta who defeated the Belarussian Ilya Ivashka with 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 (9/7).

Stanislas Wawrinka, winner of the Australian tournament in 2014 but punished last year for injuries, was eliminated by Canadian Milos Raonic (N.16) after four sets all decided in pause: 6-7 (4/7), 7-6 (8/6), 7-6 (13/11), 7-6 (7/5).

Other Day 4 Results:

Kei Nishikori (JPN / N.8) vs. Ivo Karlovic (CRO) 6-3, 7-6 (8/6), 5-7, 5-7, 7-6 (10/7)
