Clover will arrive in early 2019 when the credit card company will be open to all players
Argentina's media payment technology businesses will start to change in an unprecedented way in January, when the First Data Market launches in Latin America, the transaction platform launched by First Data on Tuesday.
To present the new equipment and systems included in the Clover brand, where the iProUP was present, company president and chief executive Frank Bisignano arrived in Buenos Aires, who announced a millionaire investment for this initiative.
Bisignano was welcomed to the Rosada House by President Mauricio Macri and then led the Faven Center of Art to present Clover, a system with which he fulfilled his promise announced a year and a half ago when he first visited the country.
"We believe Clover is the best platform in the industry for the Argentine market, we have a strong expectation in Argentina, so we will continue to bet the country no matter what happens to the economy," said the businessman who did not specify the value of the investment, though it said it is millions of dollars.
The product will reach stores in early 2019, the year that the acquiring entity that regulates credit cards will be open to all players. Subsequently, the obligation for all POSs to accept all cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) will be applied.
According to Bisignano, Argentina is the first Latin American country in which First Data launches this new product and the fifth in the world after the United States, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Argentina's First Data General Manager, Patricia Guarnes, today explained that the Clover teams, the new business unit of the local branch, will enter the market in January.
The executive said it would target the segment of those who do not have their own system, estimated by the company in about 200,000 stores. The goal is to reach 50,000 institutions in the first year.
The system will cost very similar to what is currently perceived by Postnet, between 200 and 400 pesos plus VAT, but with larger features and advanced technology for all types of merchants.
The new equipment will enable business owners to maximize operational efficiency, take advantage of real-time data analysis, and better participate in customers; all with First Data's security and fraud control, highlighted in Clover Founder John Beatty's presentation.

With the support of this platform, those who have the product will be able to take control of their operations in real time through a back-end online portal, a commercial web panel that can be accessed at any time from a smartphone, tablet, or computer .
From this panel, the administrator will be able to monitor the status of the transaction, view receipts in an online file, and make remote configuration changes.
The first two Clover First Data devices available in Argentina are Clover Mini and Clover Flex.
Clover Mini features

Both are added to two programs: the payment system (including employee management, customers and reports) and the point of sale (orders for printers, inventories and tax printers). In addition, they are already integrated with Hasar's fiscal printer.
Clover's business management function also helps create orders, track inventory, manage staff, improve customer engagement, and perform administrative tasks.
In addition, the platform provides access to a third-party application market to connect users with solutions designed to simplify daily tasks and support functions that are essential to unit owners.
The company said that these applications can be synchronized with accounting software, employee management optimization, and customer loyalty, among other features.
