John Deere, a company that connects cars, people, technology and intelligence with each of its solutions, received the La Nacin-Banco Galicia Award for Best Agricultural Machinery Producer Award last night, a distinction which crowns 60 years of uninterrupted production and investment in the country.
John Deere invests a total of $ 4 million a day in research and development, which leads to increased productivity, cost savings, operational efficiency and better customer management. In the current era of large data and the Internet of Things, the company has innovated in software and integrated remote communication in its teams, managing data in cloud and telemetry and precision operations.
"Receiving this recognition is very satisfactory for John Deere, a company that produces uninterrupted production in Argentina for 60 years and always accompanies the Argentine field, convinced of its potential," he said Gastn Trajtenberg, president of John Deere Argentina.
"In recent years, and in particular John Deere, has significantly reaffirmed its commitment to the national industry with new production lines, expansion of the factory, opening a spare parts distribution center, training center and a source of pride and a grateful responsibility to be appreciated by John Deere, we continue to work with the Argentine manufacturer with great expectations in the future of our country, "added Trajtenberg.
John Deere began production in Argentina in 1958 when he started his engine factory in Grenadier Baigorria. However, the solid history that unites the company with the country dates back to 1894 when the first agricultural machinery was marketed. Currently, John Deere has an engine, tractors and harvester factory, a spare parts distribution center, a training center and more than 820 direct employees. In addition, it operates with an extensive network of 26 representatives in more than 90 outlets throughout the country.
In Argentina, the long-term vision of the company is expressed in its full potential in 2018, through corporate announcements and commercial releases aimed at delivering complete and ever more efficient solutions to the Argentinian manufacturer and contractor.
John Deere Values of 2018
Engines. At the 60th anniversary, the company has stated for investments and new technologies for the benefit of Argentinian farmers. It started the year celebrating a new stage: engine output of 300,000.
The models manufactured in Granadero Baigorria range from 2.9 liters (3 centimeters); 4.5 liters (4 cm); 6,8 and 9 liters (6 cylinders), covering power between 44 HP and 365 HP. They are used in tractors, harvesters, construction equipment and also for power generation and irrigation. These engines meet the environmental emissions requirements demanded by Brazilian customers, which has been a very important challenge the company has managed to overcome.
Products. John Deere introduced the new 5E Series tractors with optional original cabin, specially designed to provide greater safety and convenience to all operations. The new 5082E, 5090E and 5090EH models, now cabin, are ideal for hunting and spraying.
These new models enhance the visibility of front loaders because they have a hatch and a panoramic view. They have the joystick and VCS tools, making it easy to connect and use the equipment. In the 5090EH – ideal for fumigation tasks – the active carbon filter booth offers greater operator protection in spraying. The models that make up the series are also economical due to low fuel consumption; and robust for its simplicity and resilience to all types of terrain.
In the year when the company celebrates 60 years of uninterrupted production in Argentina, it announced the nationalization of the 7J Series, reaffirming its commitment to industry and the Argentine rural environment.
The 7J Series has been developed to deliver excellent performance in the field to meet the demands of productive and efficient farming. This tractor line, ideal for planting, is equipped with JDLink technology and an automated pilot system that seeks to meet the growing needs of the Argentine manufacturer. The new tractor series is made up of three models, 200, 215 and 230 HP. By nationalizing the 7J Series, John Deere covers the segment from 45 hp to 230 hp with equipment from the Argentine industry.
In terms of crops, the S-Series of the national industry consumes 17% less fuel per hectare, allows harvesting between 2 and 4 hectares per day, and efficiency requires an adjustment time of 55% less.
In Argentina, John Deere produces:
The 3, 4 and 6 cylinder displacement engines from 44 to 365 horsepower.
Tractors.
– Series 5E. Models 5045D, 5045E, 5065E, 5075E, 5076EF, 5082E, 5090E.
– Series 6J. The models 6115J, 6135J, 6150J, 6170J, 6190J and 6210J.
– Series 7J. The 7200J, 7215J and 7230J models.
S-Series Harvesters S550, S660, S670 and S680.
Platforms: 2 product families, 5 models in total:
– Flexible cutting platforms with belt or cloth (FlexDraper)
– Flexible cutting platforms with sinfn tube (FlexAuger)
Innovation. John Deere has launched the Operations Center, an innovative solution for managing data and making better decisions. It is an online platform that allows the manufacturer and the contractor to view, analyze, archive and share the agronomic information of the batch and equipment by providing data in a simple format to access both a computer and mobile phones or tablets.
With remote access to the monitor, it is possible to detect the device that works best in the field and replicate it to the rest of the equipment. One of the important advantages is the possibility of facilitating proactive support from dealers' specialists, who can alert you to possible inconveniences and guide operators for a quick solution.
Innovation and productive efficiency. A Ultimaker 3 printer arrived at John Deere in February and allows very simple creation of parts whose geometric complexity will require more processing, optimizing time and resources in tool, device and prototype manufacturing.
With 3D printing, the process by which a 3D file is transformed into a physical object, many restrictions are eliminated in the design stage for both prototypes and final pieces. After the training that the manufacturing production team received and two weeks of testing, the printer is currently printing nearly 100% of the time, mainly prototypes.
Each piece manufactured using the 3D printer involves saving time for managing, ordering, and shipping with a vendor. With a 3D print, you may have only one piece of day for the other when a vendor takes about 10 days to manufacture and deliver. In addition, the cost of printing supplies is negligible compared to the cost of manufacturing the same piece by traditional methods.
Some of John Deere's DNA is related to the rapid implementation of new technologies and innovations to create and maintain a competitive edge. The design and manufacture of new assembly devices is one of the production department's competencies. 3D printing is an emerging technology that solves many of the complications associated with prototyping new devices in a tedious manner.
Investments and new markets. John Deere signed the definitive acquisition agreement of King Agro, a privately-owned company manufacturing carbon fiber technology products, headquartered in Valencia, Spain, and its production in Campana, Argentina. This transaction provides John Deere customers with the opportunity to further benefit from King Agro's unique knowledge, design and experience in carbon fiber technology.
John Deere has also signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition of PLA, a private company that manufactures sprayers, seeders and agricultural products. PLA is located in Argentina, with production facilities in Las Rosas, Argentina and Canoas, Brazil. The PLA acquisition strengthens John Deere's commitment with its customers that John Deere continues to offer innovative, profitable equipment, technologies and services to improve the productivity of its customers.
