The Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S destroys the registration of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio ring

The Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S is now the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring, AMG Markus Hofbauer, the engineer of development, managed to blow up a small 503-horsepower SUV around the entire Nordschleife in a 7: 49 : 369.

This compares to the previous record of 7: 51.7, set by the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, similar to the third year, with just over a year. Impressively, Hofbauer managed to beat the Alfa record only on his first tournament during a test round on Thursday.

The new record was measured independently by wige SOLUTIONS, the same company that manages the timing for many of the motorsport events organized at Ring. The record for production vehicles, regardless of the segment, is 6: 44,97 set by Aventador SVJ from Lamborghini earlier this year.

The GLC63 S is powered by the 4-liter turbocharged, AMG-approved V-8 family. The engine completes 503 hp 516-pound horses, which together see that the SUV has reached 60 mph from rest in just 3.7 seconds. The vehicle also benefits from an electronically limited slip differential, and the 295-millimeter rear tires.

Incredibly, AMG is working on a mid-cycle update for GLC63, which means we could soon be in the store for a faster version of the GLC63 S. The updated GLC63 will expand next year as part of an upgraded GLC range.
