The Austrian national football team has finished the international year 2018 victorious. The ÖFB team celebrated a 2-1 victory in the last minute at Windsor Park, a nearly soldier, at the end of the National League premiere, held on Sunday against Northern Ireland. Franco Foda's team took the B-League group 3 with seven points and took second place behind Bosnia-Herzegovina (10).
A lot of changes
Franco Foda made four changes compared to the Bosnia-Herzegovina duel. Andreas Ulmer, Stefan Ilsanker, Xaver Schlager and Michael Gregoritsch joined the team. For the sessions, Florian Kainz, Alessandro Schöpf, Peter Zulj and traitor Marko Arnautovic initially on the bench. David Alaba played in the 4-2-3-1 system as the left wing. A good and initially committed phase of ÖFB-Eleven was followed by a game of predisposition to battles and chaos, in which the moments of the players were very short.
Both teams were very stable on the defensive before the break but did not think too much in the game. The home side acted at least a little more dangerous, but there was only one convincing chance. In a header of Stefan Lainer Evans, Heinz Lindner had to make a strong defense of his team as the ball flew on defensive one. On the other hand, just a free kick from Alaba, which has just passed over (14.), is worth mentioning. The Northern Irish were again dangerous from a dangerous dangerous situation, a free kick by Niall McGinn, not too much (44).
At the break, Foda had to change, Zulj brought in to the left due to circulatory problems in the Ilsanker cabin. Sturm-Graz-Legionnaire had an impetus and was also involved in the opening goal. After a nice combination on the side and a crossing Zulj, Schlager hit the left corner just his. It was the beginning of a thrilling half, in which both teams played with joy and sought the decision.
Prompt recovery was received
Aleksandar Dragovic managed to block a McGinn shot (54 '). Balance was delayed only for a short time. ÖFB's defense left Evans in the center too much and he also concluded that the ball was deflected by Martin Hinteregger, unsustainable for Lindner.
The ÖFB team shortly delayed but reported in the 70th minute. In Alaba's first good action on the left wing, there was not much to go for a goal. Three minutes later, Bayern's legionary left the replacement of Arnautovic, the top chance on the renewed leadership from the good position. Arnautovic had no effect on Gregory.
The final heated phase
The home came in a final phase sometimes warmed up and the second goal almost, George Saville scored quite missed (76). Eventually, the Austrians were closer to winning and were still rewarded in the last action of the game. Lazaro was successful after Arnautovic's preparatory work. The outcome against Northern Ireland is now fully balanced with 4 wins and three draws.
