Nestroy awards will be awarded –


The 19th Nestroy Theater Prize will be presented today at the An der Wien Theater. The prize is awarded in thirteen categories. Three prizes were announced in advance, including those for work of life.

The best piece award goes to "everyone dies" by Ferdinand Schmalz, the best equipment of the season, provided Alice Babidge for "Hotel Strindberg" in the academy. The Vienna Stage Club gives prizes in ten other categories. The Nestroy Award has already been established for Peter Handke's work. "In the history of the local, German and international phases, his work is unique because of the solitary insistence," said SPO's cultural adviser, Veronica Kaup-Hasler.
