The basketball league has adapted its program after crown infections in the team of the Dukes of Klosterneuburg. All games in the 17th round on Saturday and Sunday were canceled shortly, as decided by the clubs in a meeting on Thursday night. The last round of the regular round will not be played until February 3. In addition, the cup final between Oberwart Gunners and Swans Gmunden, which was actually scheduled for the end of January, has been postponed to March 6.

“After going through the season very well for months, the virus hit again, unfortunately, at an awkward time,” BSL CEO Johannes Wiesmann said in a show. They knew at the beginning of the season that flexibility was needed. The solution that has been developed now is “the most correct from a sports point of view”, said Wiesmann. Clubs have the opportunity to play test matches according to the concept of prevention.
