Last year, the Citroën C3 was the most popular car in Belgium, followed by the Fiat 500, VW Golf, Renault Clio and Mercedes class A, according to an analysis by Febiac, the federation of the automotive sector.
In 2020, 10,420 new Citroën C3s were sold for the 9,110 Fiat 500, 8,937 Golf, 8,346 Clio and 8,120 Mercedes A-Class.
In Flanders, the VW Golf was the most popular model followed by the Volvo XC40 and Skoda Octavia. The Walloons favored the Citroën C3 followed by Dacia Duster and Dacia Sandero. In Brussels, the most popular model was the Mercedes A-Class, followed by the Fiat 500 and Citroën C3.
Among the electric cars, Tesla Model 3 stood out with 2,211 registrations. Audi e-tron (built in Brussels) and Renault ZOE follow.
