Two investigators from the Transport Safety Council head to Field, BC, after 27 cars from a train to the west derailed Thursday on the CP line near the top spiral tunnels.
The derailment was reported in CP Laggan subdivision, which runs from Calgary to Field, BC, immediately after 10 am. MT. The train was traveling at 22 km / h. No injuries reported.
Investigators "should be there very late this evening or early [Friday], said TSB spokesman Alex Fournier.
The upper spiral tunnels are near the Cathedral, between Lake Louise, Alta and Field, B.C.
The second derailment was reported in a national park in two days.
CN officials said a gondola-style coke plant came out of the track Wednesday near Jasper, Alta. There were no reported losses or leaks and no injuries. The machine remained in the upright position and the piece was repaired.
