About a month later, Aquaman DC beat a box office record formerly owned by Marvel's Avengers: The Infinite War. According to a report, Aquaman has become the best pre-seller of all time on the Atom Tickets site in the US.
The deadline shows that the DC superhero movie exceeds $ 2 billion in Marvel in the first 24 hours of tickets available. The Infinity War currently holds the record for the biggest opening weekend of all time, with $ 640 million worldwide and $ 257 million in the US.
The report adds that Aquaman is heading to Venom Sony, which has made over $ 700 million worldwide, on sellers such as Fandango. It also surpasses Tom Cruise's mission: Impossible – Fallout, which opened at US $ 61 million.
DC film comes after a particularly difficult time for Warner Bros. in terms of superheroic movies based on DC characters. The studio is in the midst of the resumption of the next series, following the disappointing critical performance of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League. Both Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck can no longer repress their roles as Superman and Batman, respectively. Aquaman arrives in December, followed by Shazam! in the year 2019. Wonder Woman 1984 was pushed recently in 2020, in favor of the first June release date.
It was also announced that Aquaman will be launched in India a week before its American debut on December 14th. Warner Bros sells this movie with three trailers released so far and a special preview.
Directed by James Wan, the movies feature Jason Momoa and Amber Heard as central roles. They will be with Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Nicole Kidman.
