A state funeral will take place in Montreal next Tuesday for former Quebec Prime Minister Bernard Landry.
Landry, Prime Minister of Quebecois from 2001 to 2003, died Tuesday at his 81st birthday at Vercheres, Que.
He is reminded of former allies and political enemies as a tireless champion of Quebec sovereignty and a man with a strong economic vision for the province.
Landry had numerous prominent government posts, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, before taking office in 2001, after Lucien Bouchard resigned as prime minister.
The public visits will take place Saturday at Landry in the Quebec City National Assembly and Monday at the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal.
The funeral is set for 2:00. at the Notre-Dame Basilica.
