It looks like Hiroshi Tanahashi just made the list. Although there has been a speculation that Chris Jericho can join Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks in Jacksonville, Florida for the All Elite Wrestling promotion, the legendary fighter will not end with New Japan Pro-Wrestling yet.
Jericho would have lost Intercontinental IWGP in a potential match last year last night at Wrestle Kingdom 13; however, he fully intends to challenge the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, now owned by Hiroshi Tanahashi, who defeated Kenny Omega to recover the title.
Ierihko said Yahoo Japan, "I just lost [Intercontinental Championship] I took it from Naito in June last year. It's a big mistake if you think the time with me and New Japan Pro-Wrestling is over. I want to ask for a IWGP weight belt … Write it down. Chris Jericho will challenge the IWGP Heavyweight Championship! You will understand."
Jericho saw a career revival since returning to New Japan Pro-Wrestling in November last year. He defeated Tetsuya Naito to become the IWGP Intercontinental Champion and had a 209-day lead as a champion just to lose the Intercontinental Championship in a match without DQ matches in the Wrestle Kingdom 13 match. Tanahashi not yet in front of Chris Jericho.
