The police issued an arrest warrant for a 46-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent attack on a 16-year-old girl and her mother in the Scarborough apartment Friday night.

The incident happened inside an apartment in a building near Danforth and McCowan on around 6:00.

Paramedics said a teenage girl was taken to hospital in a threatening condition after having suffered multiple injuries. Her 37-year-old mother was taken to hospital in serious condition after being hit several times, police said.

In a statement issued early Saturday morning, police said the suspect "violently attacked" both victims before they immediately escaped from the scene.

The police said earlier that the neighbors called 911 after they heard of the agitation.

46-year-old Harry Rajkumar from Toronto is wanted in two cases of a gun attack, two findings of aggravating aggression and non-compliance.

Rajkumar is described as five-foot-eleven and 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red shit with a white zipper jacket and allegedly driving a heavy truck 2009 Toyota Tundra with the Ontario AJ 21674 license plate.

Police say they should be considered "armed and dangerous".
