A man is in the hospital after being seriously injured in a break and entering Thursday night.
The Calgary police were summoned to the 600th block on 68th Avenue S.W. for pause and input reports.
With a police escort, a man was taken to hospital under critical, potentially life-threatening conditions.
A neighbor said he heard a door was hit before the police were on the scene.
"This seems to be the worst street in the area," said Ryan Wager, who lives near the place where the violent break and entry took place.
"Two nights in a row (last week), someone was arrested even against the fence, the next night, the same thing. There are a lot of policemen (in the area)."
Megan Smith, who lives near the scene of the crime, said I saw that local policemen were not an unusual event.
"There is a large population of homeless people in the area, so many things happen to that," she said, adding she is not alarmed by the presence of the police.
"We've heard from our neighbors neighbors that there are many stolen cars (near the crime scene). It's a kind of area.
