International Airport Authority John believes he is disappointed that WestJet has decided to remove his direct non-stop service daily between St. John and Dublin, Ireland.
The Authority confirmed the news this morning.
The service was launched in 2013 – the most successful launch of a new route in WestJet history according to the airport.
The airport authority says it is disappointed with the new ones and will continue to work with the airline to expand its services at the airport.
Airline's decision Say Not Taken Lightly
WestJet says it did not make the easy decision, but says the route was not "pending" and therefore decided to discontinue the service.
The airline says it remains committed to aviation aviation in the province and has recently added a 24-hour service between St. Louis and Washington. John and Fort Launderdale in the spring of 2019.
WestJet is currently addressing all those who booked flights on St John's Dublin to inform them about the change of itinerary.
