Donostia– A total of 128 people have been hospitalized in Euskadi since the outbreak of influenza, of which 39 with severe prognosis, as the Basque health service reported yesterday.
In a statement, Osakidetza said the Basque influenza activity was "slightly declining", although it remains "above the epidemic threshold."
The incidence rate for the last week of the year was 97.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while the previous week was 150.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the latest report of the Médicos Vigía Surveillance Surveillance Network, who analyzed flu activity between December 24 and December 30.
Since the flu activity has begun to date, a total of 128 people have been hospitalized, of whom 39 have severe prognosis.
Throughout Osakidetza's primary healthcare network, the increase in the need for influenza-related assistance has been maintained and 1976 consultations have taken place over the past week. – E.P.
