Oaxaca, Oax. – For the second consecutive day, the State Council for AIDS Prevention and the Outpatient Center for the Prevention and Care of AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (COESIDA-CAPASITS) is taking action to prevent and detect the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) at the Regional University of Southeast Oaxaca (URSE), campus "El Rosario", commemorating the National HIV Testing Day.
Before the students of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, COESIDA-CAPASITS general manager Gabriela Velásquez Rosas said that Oaxaca ranks ninth at national level in HIV cases, according to the epidemiological data of the National Center for Prevention and Control of HIV and AIDS CENSIDA). For this reason, he stressed the importance of implementing preventive and care strategies, because having an appropriate diagnosis can be effective and qualitative care.
Finally, the head of the HIV / AIDS program also urged university students and the general population to take an HIV test in mobile units and go to San Bartolo Coyotepec, Salina Cruz and Santiago Pinotepa Nacional.
