Ministry of the Interior and Public Security announced in an official statement that Metropolitan Intendence will lead you the first simulation of massive water cutting in Metropolitan Region to implement the region's protocols against these situations.
The activity will continue November 28 and This should be mentioned this will not involve a real reduction in the service.
To do so, the Metropolitan Court will work with National Emergency Office (Onemi), Seremi de Salud, Sanitary Services Inspectorate (SISS), eleven municipalities and drinking water companies: Aguas Andinas, Cossbo, SMAPA and Aguas Santiago Poniente.
The plan will aim to implement different plans that the authorities together with metropolitan municipalities and health service companies have built to minimize neighbors' difficulties during a possible reduction in drinking water.
"A prepared city is one that draws lessons from complex moments to execute actions (…) with this simulation, which we will try to make as real as possible, prepare to know how to act in the face of unforeseen situations such as be a massive reduction in drinking water, response time and how we can improve on an event with these characteristics, " he said Karla Rubilar, Metropolitan Mayor, about the event.
On the other hand, Miguel Muñoz, regional director of ONEMI, added: "This is an exercise to measure the effectiveness of emergency plans, and we always have gaps, and the point is that when this really happens, we have fewer problems. This simulation is to measure the quality of the plans before the emergence of a real emergencies ".
