The Council of Ministers discussed and approved the draft law on the establishment of the Commission for the Truth of Nations and Reconciliation, which is sent to the People's House for approval, according to the Prime Minister.
The project is informed by the assumption that the social and political conflicts experienced by Ethiopia for many years have caused some damage and tensions. And the commission intends to bring reconciliation based on the ideals of "truth and justice".
Although some scientists, such as Professor Al Mariam, support the idea, there are critics who tend to believe that there is no point in believing that there has never been a widespread social conflict that would require national reconciliation. "What are reconciliation parties?" That's the question they often ask.
At the height of ethnic politics with the TPLF in the firm control of ruling machines, political accusations were labeled as "nefategna" and as perpetrators of ethnic oppression in the history of the country, but the cloud of misconception and ethnic distortion Amhara is now breaking down of TPLF.
The leaders of the Eritrean leaders, including President Isayas Afeworki, seemed to share in the past a form of negative view of the Amhara ethnicity, only to learn early that their view of Amhara was unfounded, which President Isayas Afeworki spoke during his last visit in Ethiopia, the region.
Political ethical emissions in the country also change their view of the history of ethnic oppression in the history of the country, linked to Amhara's supremacy.
The Democratic Party (ODP), one of the largest ethical parties in the country that governs the Oromo region of Ethiopia, has recently changed its long-standing political beliefs in this respect when it is said that the oppression in Ethiopia's history was based on class , not reflecting the realities of the 1974 Ethiopian Revolution, of which many of the leaders, including Colonel Mengistu Hailemariam, where the Oromos ethnicity is.
In a related development, the Council of Ministers also agreed to set up the Identity and Limit Committee to resolve disputes on identity issues and administrative boundaries in different parts of the country.
The decision is informed by the idea that conflicts related to questions and limits of identity become sources of instability. The Commission will be based on the principle of neutrality and professionalism.
