German driver Sophia Floersch fractured the backbone in a high-speed crash during a Macau Formula 3 race but told the hospital she was "okay."
The 17-year-old driver lost control of his Van Amersfoort at a speed of just 280 km / h on Sunday.
Her car hit Sho Tsuboi driver before being hauled through air and fences.
Floersch was conscious and was transported to the hospital, after which he announced that he would suffer a surgery on Monday.
"I just wanted to let everyone know that I was fine, but tomorrow I will go to surgery," she said.
Officials say he suffered a vertebral column fracture.
Ferrari Chinese junior Guan Yu Zhou was behind Florsch at the time of the accident and blamed the flashing yellow yellow warning light.
"First of all, it was such a frightening moment," Zhou said.
"Sophia was very close to Jehan, so when Jehan broke up early, she did not have time to react.
"He hit her on Jehan's right back and that made her go back to Lisbon and flew to the other car. I hope it's okay."
The father had told DPA earlier that he could move his whole body.
Four other people were taken to the hospital, including the Japanese Tsuboi driver, two photographers, and a runway march. All were conscious and treated for various back injuries, head and facial injuries, reports said.
Floersch, who will be 18 on December 1, is fighting in his first season in the junior F3 series. She lived in 15th place when the accident happened in the fourth round of the street circuit.
The race continued after about an hour's break and was won by the 19-year-old British driver Daniel Ticktum.
Mick Schumacher, the son of Michael Schumacher, was one of many motorsports to send support messages to the teenager.
