Even if sanctions could increase for electric scooter users with inappropriate behavior, Lime is launching a safety campaign to review good behavior to adopt. The company offering self-service scooters organizes the "Respect The Ride" event at the Carreau du Temple in Paris (3rd arrondissement) on November 18, from noon until 4 pm.
The purpose of this awareness day is "to promote and celebrate a new concept of mobility that is both respectful and entertaining," explains Lime. Participants will be asked to sign a good conduct charter, in exchange for a 120 euro box. Only the first 1500 signatories will still benefit from this gift.
Five principles to be respected
By signing, the participants will agree to follow five key principles such as driving on the road and bike routes, adhering to the Highway Code, without riding a scooter, wearing a helmet, respecting the age limit. 18 years old to use a file.
There will also be numerous activities on the site, such as personalizing your cascade or learning to change with a professional.
This operation takes place throughout November in several cities around the world where Lime is present. In total, the company planned to distribute the helmets of the first 25,000 signatories to the charter, and then give another 250,000 in the coming months. The Respect the Ride campaign required a $ 3 million investment for the operator.
