At a hospital in Konstanz, a fire breaks out on Friday night. An 80-year-old dies, 14 people are injured. The parts of the hospital are evacuated, the emergency room is closed until late at night.
Konstanz – According to the prosecutor, the Klinikum Konstanz fire has killed a 80-year-old patient. In addition, a total of 14 people were injured, said Saturday's authority at Lake Constance.
The Prosecutor General and the Kriminalpolizeidirektion Friedrichshafen took up the cause of the fire investigation. After the Friday evening fire, the identity of the dead was initially unclear. Police and prosecutors are now investigating the cause of the fire. "The Prosecutor's Office has consulted an assessor to determine the cause of the fire," a police spokesman said.
The fire broke into a patient room
The wounded were 13 patients and one employee in the clinic. They were injured by the combustion gases. Five people came as a precaution to an intensive care unit. But there is no danger to his life.
The fire broke out on Friday in a patient room on the fifth floor of the hospital. It was probably the only room the 80-year-old had lived. There have been large damage to fire and soot, as can be seen in the photos of the firefighters. Investigators said that more findings can only be expected next week.
