The Supreme Court has asked CBI Director Alok Kumar Verma Monday to file a response "as soon as possible" during the day, based on the findings of the preliminary report of the CCC evidence on corruption charges, and said he would not postpone the meeting scheduled Tuesday.
The high court on 16 November urged Mr Verma to submit his response within a cover sealed to the Preliminary Report of the Central Vigilance Commission's Surveillance Commission on charges of corruption against the CBI Director until Monday.
The Bank has clearly shown that it will not change the date of the hearing and asked it to "answer as soon as possible" during the day itself to allow it to perceive the answer.
A bank headed by Justice chief Ranjan Gogoi was informed by lawyer Gopal Sankaranarayanan, representing Verma, that the CBI director was unable to file his answer to his register.
"We will not change the date, you will deposit as soon as possible, we will have to read the answer," the bank said. To this, the lawyer said the answer would be given during the day itself.
Earlier, the high court said that CVC made some "very incomplete" conclusions in its allegations of corruption charges against Verma and wanted additional investigations into some of the allegations that required more time, adding that there are some "very complementary" ".
The bank heard Mr Verma's plea, challenging the government's decision to give up his obligations and send him on leave.
