A 35-year-old man married a hologram of the popular Japanese computer character, Hatsune Miku, at a $ 18,000 wedding ceremony in Tokyo, Japan.

"I'm in love with Hatsune Miku's whole concept, but I got married to Miku in my house," Kondo said, speaking to Japan Times.

Because Hatsune Miku, with whom he lives, is a hologram that is inside an Amazon Echo gadget, it was a version of Miku that he brought to the ceremony, which is the version he sleeps at night.

Kondo tells Japan Times that the holographic wife awakens him every morning, gets him home from work, and even plays songs to him.
However, despite the internal happiness they share, their marriage is not legally recognized by the Japanese authorities.
However, Kondo received a "marriage certificate" from Gatebox, the holograms company.
And what's interesting is that Gatebox has so far released over 3,700 of these certificates to other Japanese men.
"There must be some people who can not come and say they want to have a wedding. I want to give them a push for support," Kondo explained.
