The woman of the '60s dies in the tragic accident of three vehicles in Co Roscommon



A 68-year-old woman died after a tragic three-wheeled car accident in Co-Roscommon on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at N63, about 20 miles from Roscommon, around 21.45.

The retiree was declared dead while the drivers of the other vehicles were brought to the hospital for treatment.

A guard spokesman said: "The collision at Ballinaboy Cross (12 kilometers from the town of Roscommon) took place shortly before 19.45.

"The female driver of one of the cars was injured fatally in the collision and said dead at the scene and her body was taken to the morggue at the Roscommon Hospital.

"The two drivers of the other cars were injured and taken to the Ballinasloe and Tullamore Hospital for treatment, and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

"The road was closed for a while to facilitate a forensic collision examination and has since been reopened."

Guardians are appealing to collision witnesses to contact Roscommon Garda station at 090 6638300, Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
