Samir Khalaf gives his personal library to Balamand University



The University of Balamand announced that Professor Samir Khalaf has donated to his university a large personal library containing more than 3,000 books on social sciences, political science, economics, education and history.

Balamand University Library Director Olga Ayoub said that this group contains important and unique titles in various fields, highlighting that the university has allocated a special suite for this group in the Issam Fares Learning Center Library because of the importance of the teacher's intellectual output Khalaf.

He graduated from Princeton University in 1964 and is a university and university professor. He has spent most of his academic life at the American University of Beirut and has held academic positions at Princeton University, Harvard University, MIT and the University of New York. He is distinguished by his books, including Heart of Beirut (2006), Sexuality in the Arab World (2007), Beirut Reclaimed (1994), Civil and Inappropriate Violence in Lebanon (2002).

It should be noted that the libraries of the University of Balamand include a large number of rare books, in addition to a large number of electronic resources. It is also a learning center and a framework for research and learning that teaches students and lecturers in teaching the latest learning.
