Those familiar with the history of Guns N Roses would be fully aware that the band had an appetite for destruction between them.
This was the main concern of the reviewer after the 2016 hearing that Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan's "holy trinity" returned to a meeting. How long would they last?
Two years ago, here is the band that is unfolding on our shores, against any chance, on a Wednesday night rainy day, at the "Not In This Lifetime" tour at Surf Beach, presented by Galaxy and GCOX.
After many changes in the range over their average and weak years, heavy hard rock hitters enjoyed a long-awaited look here, more than 30 years since they were angry in the world in 1985.
This current edition features a well-lubricated stone car, led by Rose and complemented by six-string dazzler Slash, cool bassist McKagan, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, Dizzy Reed on pianos and keyboards, and Melissa Reese on keyboards and synthesizers.
The seven-arm band took the desired crowd on the tape while they broke through a string of classics, starting with an angry interpretation of It's so easy.
Regardless of the composition of Guns N Roses was at any time of the career, it was always Axl Rose in the front and center of the band.
The least credible 28-song list was well-created to preserve and protect its voice for the 180-minute show. He was close to his best visceral during the time Welcome to the jungle and do not Cry, moving effortlessly from hard to heart on deeper cuts, such as Patience and alienated.
He also headed at a slower pace, without going forward in the days gone by.
Several solo moments from Slash and Fortus prevented the crowd from burning too early.
Slash, no doubt, remains the favorite of the fans, but Fortus had enough moments to shine and prove to be an equally great chopper, especially during Queen rocket and the Soundgarden roof Black Hole Sun. It is encouraging to see Fortus rewarded for his loyalty during this tournament, 16 years since joining the troops.
McKagan had his moments, especially when he played in the center of the spirited cover of the misfit " Attitude.
Besides the usual hits Sweet Child O Mine and November Rain, other notable songs made with taste Coma. You could be mine. Civil war. Double Talkin & Jive and That's what I love from their Al Chinese democracy offering.
Healthy performance culminated in confidential delivery the city of Paradis, sending the crowd home, stunning but saturated.
But if the only criticism we can find at Guns N Roses around 2018 is a lack of edginess that could have improved the jottery, then this night has successfully defied all of them.
It's so easy indeed.
