Infomédiaire Morocco – The Ministry of Health on Thursday launched Operation Riaya 2018-2019 to provide health coverage to residents in areas affected by cold and snow blows.

Launched as instructed by King Mohammed VI, this operation takes place between 15 November and 30 March in order to ensure the continuation of health services in these regions, in accordance with the guidelines for the "Health 2025" plan, in particular the related section. the strengthening of primary health care facilities and the network of medical-social facilities and the development of mobile health in rural areas.

At a ceremony held in Rabat on this occasion, Health Minister Anas Doukkali presented the measures taken by his department in this context, noting that this operation targets 28 provinces in 7 regions in order to ensure better care for people living in remote areas through local health services and strengthening basic, preventive and sensitized health services provided at health centers.

This operation also aims at enhancing the activities of mobile medical units at the meeting points of the identified locals in these regions and ensuring coverage of the detected cases by appropriately designated medical caravans and designated reference hospitals. to ensure the treatment of urgent cases, the minister noted.

In order to do this, steps have been taken to ensure the availability of human resources, equipment and means of transport to the 360 ​​health centers that have been relocated to the areas concerned for receiving and caring for patients. , aiming to perform 4,248 field visits by mobile medical units, he explained.

Similarly, he said, 163 specialized medical caravans will be organized, alongside the creation of a coordination system between mobile medical units, the provincial emergency system and these caravans, with the possibility of using helicopter transport when necessary.

It will also designate health reference institutions, establish a reference and counseling system in the provinces concerned, mobilize a mobile hospital and establish co-ordination mechanisms with partners in the health centers concerned, Doukkali reported .

He assured that in order to achieve the expected objectives, the Ministry will mobilize 2,458 medical and administrative professionals, as well as in the field of biological equipment, namely ultrasounds, medical laboratories, mobile analyzes, dental chairs and visual acuity measurement equipment. The means of transport will be supported by mobile medical and ambulance units as well as the option of helicopter transport when necessary.

And to conclude that the ministry has dedicated an exceptional budget of 5 million DH for medical and medical equipment and 800,000 DH to cover fuel needs and maintenance of mobile units.

This operation will concern the provinces of Chefchaouen, Larache, Ouazzane and Al Hoceima, Figuig, Taourirte, Driouech, Oujda-Angad, Jerrada and Guercif (Oriental), Beni Mellal, Azilal and Khénifra Moult-Kenifra), Midelt, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Zagora and Errachidia, Boulmane, Sefrou, Ifrane, Taza and Taounate (Fez-Meknes), Taroudante, Chtouka Ait Baha and Tata Haouz, Chichaoua (Marrakech-Safi).
