LAKE HALLIE, Wisconsin – A pickup truck ran on a road in West Wisconsin, and an enthusiastic scout crew was found in a garbage dump, and three girls and one adult died and a fourth girl critically injured, police said.
Sergeant Lake Hallie Police Daniel Sokup said that the black Ford F-150 truck driver escaped from the scene, but later turned. The driver was identified by Colton Treu, 21, Chippewa, Falls, Wisconsin.
Sokup said that Treu was being charged with four carnage crimes by careless use of a vehicle. Sokup said that the collapse occurred before a hill and they were not blind.
"The area is not a dangerous area," he said. Sokup said that they did not immediately know if there were any other factors that led the driver to leave.
The misfortune happened late on Saturday morning while the girls had harmed at Hallie Lake, a 95 km (153 km) East Coast of Minneapolis.
The girls were in the Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin Halmstad Primary School in the fourth grade, Minneapolis Star Tribune quoted a relative of a girl who had not been injured. Every Girl Scout was wearing a light safety vest and accompanied by several adults.
Two of the girls in the scene were dead. A third Girl Scout was taken to a hospital where he later died, Sokup said. The fourth girl was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The names of the dead did not appear immediately.
