How toilets without water can revolutionize sanitation

[ad_1]

It may seem something we consider to be self-evident, but for many around the world, proper sanitation is a luxury that is no longer at hand.

More than two billion people do not have access to safe and healthy sanitation, putting them at risk of contracting a number of harmful diseases.

At a conference this week called Reinvent the Toilet, Bill Gates stepped out on stage with a human fecal jar to illustrate the idea that precarious sanitation threatened hundreds of millions of people.

The conference presented 20 projects from technology companies for new toilets that could improve sanitation in areas without access to water.
