• Oranje played an excellent meeting
• Didier Deschamps's players do not look like a team that won the world championship a few months ago
• Only Hugo Lloris deserves a distinction in the guests' team
Oranje could start the sensational Friday session and take the lead in the third minute. Memphis Depay tipped the corner kick right to the keeper, Georginio Wijnaldum hitting a cue shot up the middle, but Hugo Lloris was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Antoine Griezmann had a good chance to respond, but Jasper Cillessen had his head.
A few moments later, Depay shot the shot but the ball was caught by the world champion goalkeeper. In the next few minutes, De Kuip did not have much to do, and both teams did not hurry with actions that could change the outcome. Letarg was interrupted only after 28 minutes when Benjamin Pavard hit the bar.
Ten minutes before the end of the half-time, Blaise Matuidi scored in the Dutch Gulf, but Cillessen scored the ball. Shortly thereafter, Wijnaldum had another chance. However, the 28-year-old was in a difficult situation and did not threaten Lloris. Shortly before the break, Liverpool player managed to take care – Steven Zonzi made a mistake, Ryan Babel caught the ball, which Lloris did well, but with Wijnaldum was already helpless.
Thus, the first part of the meeting ended with the accusations of Ronald Koeman. Immediately following the change of sides, the Dutchman could score the second goal, but after Babel's shot the ball went in a corner. After an hour of play, Virgil van Dijk was close to the point of view – Liverpool defender's "head" turned out to be slightly inaccurate. Shortly thereafter, two chances were scattered by Denzel Dumfries, being in both cases detained by Lloris.
Three colors, which have failed to cope with the great rivals, have made more and more mistakes in the defensive. In the 72th minute, Pavard just knocked the penalty area, giving the visitors a good chance for a goal. With a free kick, Depay hit hard, but Lloris, who spoke brilliantly, saved his team.
The French Golkipper also behaved just a moment later when he became very hot in the penalty box again. Twice before the chance to hit was Depay, but Olympique Lyon had to recognize the superiority of Tottenham Hotspur.
During the extra time of the game, Frenkie de Jong presented a fantastic shot, but again Lloris got up to the challenge. When it seemed to me that the result would not change Moussa Sissoko in the Jong penalty box and from 11 meters with a nice technical chance in the style of Antonin Panenka, the final result of the match was determined by Depay.
Thanks to the win, the Dutchman can throw the box to drive France away in group 1. It will all depend on the last match, where players Ronald Koeman will face the already degraded Germans. Our Western neighbors lost their chances of staying in the elite on Friday.
Netherlands – France 2: 0 (1: 0)
