A spokesman for the public transport department of Texas, Sgt. Orlando Moreno, confirmed the two deaths at San Antonio Express-News.
The Hunt, a World War II P-51D Mustang, fell on Saturday at 15:15 (21:15 in Lisbon).
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the aircraft was destroyed and several cars were damaged.
The Mustang was first built by North American aviation in 1940 and was used by the United States Army during the Second World War and the Korean War.
