Head of Cherepovets road police suspected of abuse of power – incidents



MOSCOW, Nov. 7. / Tass /. Police chief of Cherepovets in the Vologda region, Alexandru Andreev, was suspected of having abused his powers and searches were done at work and at home. This is reported on Wednesday by the regional news agency's investigative committee's press service.

"As for the head of the road police department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Cherepovets, a criminal case for abuse of office has been opened. <...> Russian IC investigators searched in the office and at the suspect's home, as well as at his dacha, "the report said.

According to the investigation, Andreeva was associated with one of the Cherepovets entrepreneurs "mutually beneficial relationships". Now, the police officer is dismissed, the official administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been scheduled for official control.

As TASS added to UK regional management, Andreev is not considered guilty. As the senior assistant to the head of the department, Natalia Letenkova, the investigation intends to conduct interrogation of road police officers and contractor.

"As far as searches are concerned, the investigators were primarily interested in the documentation of such a private attitude towards the entrepreneur. At present we know about the corporate struggles that have been paid by the businessman, are personally working on the personal purchases of Cherepovets Road Police Officer, "Letenkova said.

At the beginning of October, the local press wrote about the possible withdrawal of Lieutenant Colonel Andreev for his retirement service – he was in the police for 25 years. He headed the Cherepovets road police in 2009.
