Abdominal pain is swollen and twisted veins that are directly visible under the skin, usually in the legs, and over 30 million people in the United States are suffering from varicose veins.
Although this condition is often only irritated in the cosmetic sense, it may cause moderate pain and is associated with severe side effects, which is deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot in the deep veins in the body.
In this paper, researchers surveyed about 500,000 people who participated in the long-term study of the British biobank and looked for properties that are associated with the risk of varicosis, leading to height as a strong risk factor.
Researchers then conducted a wide-ranging genetic survey of hundreds of thousands of people and identified 30 genes, many of which contribute to the skeleton and vascular growth, indicating that height can directly cause varicose veins.
Senior researcher at Stanford University, California, Nicholas Lipper, said: "We do not yet know that height is such a big risk factor for the pancreas."
E-mail added, "Blood flow and gravity can be a simple factor, because they have a higher pressure in their veins, leading to inflation and expansion."
