Was a bad week for the Galaxy S10. In the following weeks, positive leaks are highlighted touching. the first changes in the industry, looks like design will polarize your opinion. dump facial recognition and kill the headphone jack. But now Samsung hopes to change the narrative by confirming a truly massive upgrade … & nbsp;
In a official release, Samsung announced the latest generation Exynos 9820 chipset to power the Galaxy S10. And it's Samsung's biggest upgrade for years.
The main news is that the Exynos 9820 offers a massive 40% energy efficiency and graphics performance ratio compared to the Exynos 9810 that powers the Galaxy S9 and Note 9. It also has major 4G upstream compatibility compatibility up to 2Gbps carrier aggregation) and 4×4 MIMO for WiFi very fast.
The Exynos 9820 also features Herculean camera performance, allowing 4K video recording at 150 frames per second (fps) in 10-bit color. Currently, 60 fps is the best way to manage smartphones.
Samsung also strongly promotes the artificial intelligence of the new neural processing unit (NPU) on the chipset. The company claims it is seven times faster than last year's NPU, but since Samsung did not provide NPU numbers last year, this is hard to quantify. A faster NPU, however, has the potential to greatly improve the camera as well as augmented performance and virtual reality.
But there is a sober element.
leaked reference values suggests that the 9820 will still not match the performance of the Apple A12 chipset on iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. That being said, given the difference between Apple's performance in recent years, the fact that Samsung can only put it in a single generation is impressive. Especially because Samsung packs much more RAM and bigger batteries around it than Apple usually does.
Samsung also highlights the preparation of Exynos 9820, starting with mass production "by the end of this year."
All this is about the early launch of the Galaxy S10 and its new "cutout" Infinity-O display. Samsung will also be able to associate the Exynos 9820 with your own 5G modem and at least a Galaxy S10 will receive it.
All this compensates Samsung embracing the note, ditching his rival ID Face and (potentially) remove the headphone jack? I'm sure customers will let Samsung know …
