"We will help eradicate cheating in sports" – minister Soccer / Soccer

Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the Minister for Youth and Sports, said the government is determined to eliminate sport fraud by setting up the National Anti-Doping Committee (NADC), which aims to promote drug-free sports in Africa and beyond.

"The Committee aims at educating and raising awareness among young people about doping and the effects of sport scams, which the world generally frowns on," he said.

According to Mr. Asiamah, the sport was about participation, but with authentic intent and correctness, which must be admitted well, in promoting anti-doping in sports in Africa and around the world.

A member of Parliament for the Atwima Mponua constituency did so at the annual meeting of the Regional Council A of Africa VI (RADO), which took place in Accra at the Alisa Hotel on 21 November 2018.

The eleventh meeting of the Governing Board, which had participants from Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Malawai, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini / Swaziland, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe, allowed Member States to protect clean athletes and promote clean sports.

Mr. Asiamah said sport was about participation, but with intent and fairness.

"Sport is a game, which should be a healthy, undemanding competition and the use of the wrong means to achieve results.

"We must help eradicate the torment of deception in sport, Africa and the world has a huge burden. We must all help minimize the use of forbidden drugs in our game."

Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, President of NADC and Member of the Parliament of Effiduase / Asokore, in an interview with GNA Sports, the region's regional anti-doping organization, meets annually to assess regional doping issues and other related activities.

"Normally, this meeting makes us meet each year to assess regional issues of doping, challenges, testing, education, risk assessment, compliance, which makes doing easy, and that's what RADO is trying to do and has done .

"Members of the NADC committee meet on Friday, where Ghana faces code and questionnaire (CCQ), which is over 300 pages, if we do not comply with the other countries ".

According to him, if Ghana fails to respect, the country will no longer have international events and affect our national teams.

Ghana hosts all African Games in 2023 and we must do these things to avoid any compliance problems.

He said that by drafting the law and legislative instruments, the commission looked at the end of next year, where they would take the first six to seven months to focus on policy-making and then the first three months to hire owners and then transform it the draft policy.
